Google Drive’s public link feature allows you to share files with anyone, regardless of whether they have a Google account. Learn how to make your Google Drive file links public and start sharing files with ease!
- First of all, go to your “Google Drive” app and click on it.
- And the Google Drive interface will appear.
- We will first of all try to see how we can share a particularly file to some body. When you look at the Google Drive interface you will see some files there. So, we will go ahead and click on the first one.
- Then, right-click on the particular file you just selected, and a dropdown menu will appear.
- On the menu drop down, click on “share”.
- Wait for it to load.
- After loading, a message box will appear.
- Then click on the search button and type in the receiver’s (the person you are sending the file to) email address. You can add so many email address if you want, but that will be too tedious.
- Once you are done entering the email address, then click “Send” on the message box.
- But, in a situation where you have send this file to so many people, then the previous step we just learnt will be rather stressful and time consuming. So, alternatively, go to your file in which you want to share and click on it.
- On the same file you just selected right click and a menu will drop down.
- On the menu dropdown, click on “Get link”.
- And a message box will appear.
- If you look closely on the message box you will see where it is written “Restricted” and click the arrow head sign beside it.
- And a message box will appear carrying two options on it, which are “Restricted and Anyone with the link”.
- Go ahead and click on “Any one with the link”.
- And it will change.
- Still on the message box where it is written “Viewer”, go and click the arrow head beside it and a message box will appear.
- On the message box, select “Editor” and click on it.
- And it will apply.
- Still on the message box click on “copy link”.
- For you to know if the file is now accessible to anyone with the link, simply go to your web browser after copying the link and paste the link in your search bar by pressing ctrl v on your keyboard, and then press “Enter” also on your keyboard when are done pasting the link.
- Wait for it to load.
- And then it will display.
- You can also try to download the fiLe and see. Simply click on the arrow sign pointing down wards at the top right hand side of your system.
- And the file will be successfully downloaded into our system or phones depending on which one you are using.
