HOW TO CREATE A SIGNATURE IN GMAIL

In Gmail, a signature is a block of text that automatically appears at the bottom of every email you send. It’s like your digital business card. Think of it like a digital equivalent of a handwritten signature, but way more informative and flexible. You can customize your signature to fit your personal or professional brand, and Gmail will append it to every outgoing email. Simple, yet effective.

  1. Go to your Gmail box on your browser.
  1. Go to “setting” , the second icon at the top right hand side of the Gmail page.
  1. And a menu will appear.
  1. On the menu, click on “see all settings”.
  1. And it will open.
  1. Scroll down to the end of the new page that just appeared and click on “Create new”.
  1. And a message box will appear.
  1. On the message box type in “ISAAC” or any name of your choice.
  1. Then, click on “create” (still on the message box).
  1. And it will open. It will provide a blank space where you can type or import images.
  1. Below the provided white blank space ,click on the “image” icon to import an image.
  1. It will re-direct you to your folder where you can select any image of your choice.
  1. On the displayed image folder, click on “Upload”.
  1. On the “upload” page click the blue button written on it “select a file from your device”.
  1. Your file manager will appear for you to select and upload the picture of your choice.
  1. When you are done selecting the image, click “open” and the image will be uploaded.
  1. But, the image we are using for this class is already saved in the drive. So, on the displayed image folder click on “MyDrive” instead of “Upload”.
  1. Go ahead and select the image by clicking on it.
  1. And it will open. If you look at it you will see that the image has covered the whole space and it doesn’t look nice.
  1. For you to adjust it, simply click on the image and a small message box will appear showing , small, medium, large, original size, and remove options to choose from. So you can go ahead and adjust it to your desired choice.
  1. For the purpose of the class we will select “small” from the message box by clicking on it.
  1. Below the image you can type a name. Here, we will type “ISAAC”.
  1. You can as well make the name bod by highlighting it (double click o the name to highlight).
  1. Then click on the icon below with letter “B” sign to make the name bold.
  1. And it will apply.
  1. Next, you add your job title. Here, we will type in “Data Engineer” as our job title.
  1. Lastly, type in your link. Here, we will type in “Linkedin “ as our link.
  1. You can as well go further to use colors to either change the background color or text color. First of all highlight what you are working with. Here, we are working with the job title which is the “Data Engineer”.
  1. Then, click on the icon below with letter “A” on it.
  1. And a dual message box will appear carrying different kinds of colors to choose from. The both message boxes will appear carrying same colors but different actions. The one at left is for Background color and the one at the right is for Text color.
  1. So, we will change the Text color first.  Go ahead and click on green from the Text color box.
  1. And it will apply.
  1. Go ahead and highlight it again.
  1. Again, click on the letter “A” icon and the dual color message box will still appear.
  1. This time we will choose black color from the background  color.
  1. And it will apply .
  1. Go ahead and highlight the link.
  1. Then, click on the bracket-like icon below to add the link.
  1. A message box will appear after clicking on it.
  1. On the message box type in “google.com” or any other URL of your choice, but make sure it is correct.
  1. Then click “ok” on the message box.
  1. And it will apply.
  1. Once you are done, click on the link and it will show you an option for you to open the link in google  (http//google.com) . Go ahead and click on it and it will open in google.
  1. You can go ahead and design your link. First of all,  highlight  the link.
  1. Then, click on the letter “A” icon.
  1. And a dual message box carrying same color types will appear.
  1. From the Text color message box at the right, click and select sky blue color.
  1. Leaving the text still highlighted, click back on the letter “A” icon.
  1. Then, select black color from the background color message box on the left hand side.
  1. And they will both apply.
  1. Once you are done with  that, scroll down to the end of the page and click on “save changes”.
  1. And it will save successfully.
  1. You can go ahead and test what you just created to see if it is working. First of all click on “compose” at the top left hand side of your Gmail page.
  1. And a message box will appear.
  1. On the message box, enter the email address of the person you are sending a message to.
  1. Next, type in the message you want to send.
  1. Then, click on “send” at bottom of the message box(the blue button below).
  1. And the message will be sent.
  1. On the Gmail inbox of the recipient , this is how it is supposed to appear.
  1. Go ahead and click on the link.
  1. Wait for it to load.
  1. And it will open, looking like this.
