10 CHROME SETTINGS YOU NEED TO CHANGE IMMEDIATELY

Google Chrome offers a wide range of customizable settings that allow users to personalize their browsing experience. While the default settings are suitable for most users, some individuals may want to tweak certain options to enhance their privacy, security, or overall browsing experience. Here, we’ll discuss some key Chrome settings that users may want to consider changing to get the most out of their browser.

NUMBER 1: HOW TO CLOSE BACKGROUND APPS

  1. Open your chrome browser.
  1. Go to the top right hand side of your chrome browser and click on the three-dotted icon.
  1. And a menu will appear.
  1. On the menu click on settings.
  1. And the “settings” interface will appear.
  1. At the left hand side of the settings interface click on “system”.
  1. And a message box will appear.
  1. On the message box, click on the blue button where it is written “Continue running background apps when Google chrome is close” to switch it off.

                  NUMBER 2: SAFETY CHECK

  1. On the “settings” interface, after opening your settings click on “Privacy and security” at the left hand side of the settings interface.
  1. And it will appear.
  1. On the “privacy and security” interface click on the blue button written on  it “check now”.
  1. And it will appear.

                 NUMBER 3: THIRD PARTY COOKIES

  1. On the “privacy and security” interface scroll down and click on “cookies and other site data”.
  1. And it will open.
  1. Scroll down and click on the small circle beside where it is written “Block third party cookies”.
  1. Make sure the small circle turns blue.

                 NUMBER 4: ENHANCE PROTECTION 

  1. Still on the “Privacy and security” interface, scroll down and click on “security”.
  1. And the “security” interface will appear.
  1. Scroll down and click on the small circle beside where it is written “Enhanced protection”. Make sure that the circle turns blue, to indicate that it has been ticked.

                 NUMBER 5: DOMAIN NAME SYSTEM

  1. Still on the “security” interface scroll down and click on the button where it is written “Advanced”.
  1. And it will apply. Make sure that the button turns blue.

                 NUMBER 6: SITE ADDITION

  1. On the “Setting” interface click on “Privacy security”.
  1. Scroll down and click on “site setting”.
  1. And the interface will appear.
  1. Scroll down and click on “Location”.
  1. And it will open.
  1. If you want site know your location then you can allow the blue ticked circle on where it is written, “site can ask for your location” but if you don’t want, then, click on the small circle where it is written “Don’t allow site to see your location”.
  1. Go back to the “site setting” and click on “camera”.
  1. And it will appear.
  1. If you are using your site “camera” for zoom meetings or remote works then you can leave it on else click on the small circle where it is written “Don’t allow site to your camera” and your camera will be turned off.
  1. Still, on the “site setting” interface, click on “Microphone”.
  1. And it will open.
  1. If you are not using the microphone, then, you can go ahead and click on the small circle beside where it is written “Don’t allow site to use your Microphone”.

                NUMBER 7: POP-UP AND REDIRECT

  1. Still on then “Site settings”, scroll down and click on “pop-up and redirect”.
  1. And it will open.
  1. Some times you will be browsing and some unnecessary pop ups will be appearing on screen. So, if you don’t want this, go ahead and click on the small circle beside where it is written “Don’t allow site to send pop-ups or use redirects”.

                 NUMBER 8: BLOCKING WEBSITE THAT SHOW MISLEADING ADS.

  1. On your “settings” interface, click on “privacy and security”.
  1. Go to your “site setting” and scroll down and click on the arrow head sign beside where it is written “Additional content setting”.
  1. And it will display a list of options.
  1. From the list of options displayed, click on the arrow head sign beside where it is written “Ads”.
  1. And the “Ads” page will appear.
  1. On the “Ads” page click on the small circle where it is written “Block ads on sites that show intrusive or misleading ads”    to turn it on.

                  NUMBER 9: PAYMENT METHOD

  1. On your “settings” interface click on “Autofill” at the left hand side of the page.
  1. And a message box will appear.
  1. On the message box click on the arrow head sign where it is written “payment methods “.
  1. And a new message box will appear.
  1. On the message box, click on the button to switch it off, where it is written “Allow sites to check if you have payment method saved”.
